The concept of a Little Big Adventure came about to solve a problem. Little Big Adventures founder Theo Larn-Jones was dreaming about lots of amazing adventures, but he also needed to hold down a London based, office bound 9 to 5, which came with a mere 20 days of annual leave to play with...
It all started with an epic four day long hiking trip (tagged onto a bank holiday weekend for ultimate holiday-day efficiency) in Norway back in May 2015 with his girlfriend Soph and sister Freya. The trip was a huge success and more swiftly followed, with increasing numbers of friends and family tagging along for the ride. The trick was to locate an amazing wild place that can be flown to relatively cheaply from the UK, and where in-country logistics allow for an action packed weekend where time spent in the wild is maximised and where time spent on planes, trains, ferry's and coaches is minimised.
After having planned and completed many successful long-weekend adventures to Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and even Mexico, all in and around a full time London office job, the idea for Little Big Adventures started to properly take shape.
The concept is simple but unique. Keep the best bits of an epic, expedition style, self-supported wilderness adventure, take out all the hassle of actually having to organsing it, and compress it into the space of a weekend.
We hope you enjoy these Little Big Adventures as much as we have enjoyed planning them!
